山行警
无名氏
东边路，西边路，南边路。
五里铺[1]，七里铺，十里铺。
行一步，盼一步，懒一步。
霎时间天也暮，
日也暮，云也暮。
斜阳满地铺，
回首生烟雾。
兀的[2]不山无数，
水无数，情无数。
注释：
[1]铺：宋代称邮递驿站为铺，被元代沿用。
[2]兀的：语气助词，反诘语，起加强语气的作用。

Suddenly the sky is effaced,
The sun effaced, the clouds effaced.
The earth is paved with departing sunbeams;
Turning my head, I find mist grow as dreams.
Does mist not veil the countless hills and rills?
Does it not veil my heart which untold sorrow fills?
