越女词
（五首其五）
镜湖[1]水如月，
耶溪女如雪。
新妆荡新波，
光景[2]两奇绝。
镜湖在今天的浙江绍兴，若耶溪相传是西施浣纱的地方。溪水流入湖中，明净如月光的湖水，照着粉妆素裹的少女，波光人影相互辉映，景使人更美，人使景更丽。本诗是李白借美景写美人的佳作。
注释：
[1]镜湖：又称鉴湖、庆湖，在今浙江省绍兴市会稽山北麓，周围三百里若耶溪北流入于镜湖。
[2]景（yǐnɡ）：同“影”。

The waves of Mirror Lake look like moonbeams;
The maiden’s dress like snow on waterside.
The rippling dress vies with the rippling stream,
We know not which by which is beautified.
