东村里鸡生凤，
南庄上马变牛。
六月里裹皮裘。
瓦垄[1]上宜栽树，
阳沟[2]里好驾舟。
瓮来大肉馒头，
俺家的茄子大如斗。
注释：
[1]瓦垄：房上瓦脊。
[2]阳沟：屋檐下流水的明沟。

In summer we wear furs lest we should freeze;
The roof is a good place to plant trees.
In a dry moat we may sail a boat;
In a jar we may bake bread and cook meat.
My eggplant is as big as melon sweet.
