君子偕老

君子偕老，

副[1]笄[2]六珈[3]。

委委佗佗，

如山如河，

象服[4]是宜。

子之不淑[5]，

云如之何？

玼[6]兮玼兮，

其之翟[7]也。

鬒[8]发如云，

不屑髢[9]也。

玉之瑱[10]也，

象之揥[11]也，

扬[12]且之皙也。

胡然而天也？

胡然而帝也？

瑳[13]兮瑳兮，

其之展[14]也，

蒙彼绉[15]，

是绁袢[16]也。

子之清扬，

扬且之颜也。

展[17]如之人兮，

邦之媛也！

宣公和你同到老，

首饰玉簪镶珠宝。

体态庄重又从容，

思如河深体如崇，

身上华服很合适。

你的德行不贤淑，

还能让人如何讲？

真鲜艳啊又绚丽，

绣着雉纹的翟衣。

黑发如云真正美，

不必用那假发佩。

美玉耳环垂两边，

象牙簪子插发间，

额头宽广又白晳。

莫非尘世有天仙？

莫非帝子降人间？

真美丽啊真明艳，

轻薄细纱做礼服，

罩上蝉翼般纹衣，

夏天穿着白内衣。

你的眉目清且秀，

额头丰满又白净。

的的确确这个人，

倾城倾国的美女啊！

[9] 髢（dí）：假发。

[10] 瑱（tiàn）：垂在两耳旁的玉。

[11] 揥（tì）：发插类的首饰。

[12] 扬：眉宇间开阔方正。

[13] 瑳：玉色洁白鲜明。

[14] 展：夏天的礼服。

[15] 绉（chī）：细葛布。

[16] 绁袢：夏天穿白色内衣。

[17] 展：诚然，的确。

Duchess Xuan Jiang of Wei[1]

She'd live with her lord till old,

Adorned with gems and gold.

Stately and full of grace,

Stream-like, she went her pace.

As a mountain she'd dwell;

Her robe became her well.

Raped by the father of her lord,

O how could she not have been bored!

She is so bright and fair

In pheasant-figured gown.

Like cloud is her black hair,

No false locks but her own.

Her earrings are of jade,

Her pin ivory-made.

Her forehead's white and high,

Like goddess from the sky.

She is so fair and bright

In rich attire snow-white.

O'er her fine undershirt

She wears close-fitting skirt.

Her eyes are bright and clear;

Her face will facinate.

Alas! Fair as she might appear,

She's a raped beauty of the State.
