早发[1]白帝城[2]

朝辞白帝彩云间，
千里江陵[3]一日还。
两岸猿声啼不住[4]，
轻舟已过万重山[5]。

[2]白帝城：位于重庆市奉节县，靠近巫山。
[3]江陵：今属湖北荆州市。
[4]住：停止。
[5]万重山：层叠绵延的群山。

Leaving at dawn the White Emperor crowned with cloud,
I’ve sailed a thousand miles through gorges in a day.
With monkeys’sad adieus the riverbanks are loud,
My skiff has left ten thousand mountains far away.
