扬之水
扬之水，
不流束楚。
终鲜兄弟，
维予与女。
无信人之言，
人实迋[1]女。
扬之水，
不流束薪。
终鲜兄弟，
维予二人。
无信人之言，
人实不信。
舒缓的河水，
一捆荆条漂不起。
既然没有兄弟，
只有我和你。
不要听信别人的话，
人家是在哄骗你。
舒缓的河水，
一捆柴草流不去。
既然没有兄弟，
只有我你二人。
不要听信别人的话，
人家的话不能相信。

Believe Me[1]
Wood bound together may
Not be carried away.
We have but brethren few;
There're only I and you.
What others say can't be believed,
Or you will be deceived.
A bundle of wood may
Not be carried away.

There are only we two.
Do not believe what others say!
Untrustworthy are they.
[1]A woman asserted good faith to her husband and protested against people who would make them doubt each other. A bundle of firewood might allude to a couple well united.
