西邻昨夜哭暴卒[1]，
东家今日悲免官。
今日不知来日事，
人生可放酒杯干。

My western neighbor wept o'er sudden death last night;
Dismissed today, my east neighbor grieves at his plight.
We do not know whate'er tomorrow will come by.
Why in our life do we not drink our wine cup dry?
