冷雨幽窗[2]不可听，
挑灯闲看《牡丹亭》。
人间亦有痴于我，
岂独伤心是小青。
注释：
[1]《牡丹亭》：明代著名剧作家汤显祖所作的传奇剧本，写少女杜丽娘与书生柳梦梅之间的感情故事。
[2]幽窗：幽僻的小窗。

How can I bear to hear cold rain beat window panes?
I light my lamp to read Pavilion of Peony.
The beauty died of love, in dreams she still remains;
She's not so lonely, heart-broken as dreamless me.

[2]Feng Xiaoqing was mistress of Feng Qianqiu whose wife forbade her to leave a lonely islet in West Lake. She died at the age of 18 and was buried by the lakeside.
