寄生草
 饮

白朴

长醉后方何碍[1]？

不醒时有甚思[2]？

糟腌两个功名字，

醅渰千古兴亡事，

曲埋万丈虹霓志[3]。

不达时[4]皆笑屈原非；

但知音尽说陶潜是[5]。




注释：

[1]碍：妨碍，挂碍。

[2]有甚思：还有什么思念。

[3]糟腌两个功名字，醅渰千古兴亡事，曲埋万丈虹霓志：在痛饮大醉中忘掉功名、兴亡和壮志。糟腌：用酒糟腌制。醅渰：用浊酒淹没。曲埋：拿酒曲埋掉。

[4]不达时：不显达于时的人们。

[5]陶潜是：陶潜是对的，即他不满官场黑暗，走向归隐田园的路，是正确的。

When I don't wake, what's wrong?

Let undying fame and glory be drowned in wine!

Forget the ups and downs of days gone by!

Bury in songs ambitions rainbow-high!

The unsuccessful laugh at Qu Yuan in water sunk,

While connoisseurs approve Tao Qian in wine drunk.

If you want to eat fish, Why must you have bream as you wish? If you want to be wed, Why must you have Qi the nobly bred? If you want to eat fish, Why must you have carp as you wish? If you want to be wed, Why must you have Song the highly bred? [1]This showed that one might enjoy oneself and forget one's hunger, be satisfied with fish of smaller note and be happy with a wife though she were not of a noble family.
